The GOP has made the call:
Republican sources say the party has picked the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul for the 2008 presidential convention.
We talked about it here. I had some worries about hotel space; Sharon made the best sales pitch for Minnesota in the comments. Maybe she swung some votes.
I remain kinda… underwhelmed; I admit, I probably know less about Minnesota than most other parts of the country.
Democrats are down to New York City and Denver.
Marshall: Are you f’ing kidding me? The Twin Cities?! For a national convention?! I ain’t buyin’ it. This is Ken Mehlman’s idea of a practical joke.

Underwhelmed? Underwhelmed? THis is the land of a thousand lakes. THis is home of folks who fish on ice and say things like Yahhh, you betcha.
well, yeah that is kinda underwhelming.
Hey Jim, betcha a beer that the dems go with NYC.

Hey, what’s wrong with people who say “You betcha?”
To those of us from the frozen north, Minneapolis is a veritable metropolis.
Honestly, you guys are getting a little snooty.

Only being a little silly, Rob. I live in a state where 90% of the population will vote for a Democrat for Senator. I really have no right to pick on where anyone live.

Who wudda thunk it?
To those who don\’t live here in Minnesota, their view of the state is probably shaped by the movie \”Fargo\” as much anything else. It\’s the Land of 10,000 (frozen) Lakes and 2,000,000 Johnson\’s, Anderson\’s and Peterson\’s.
