Well, the bad news for Republicans is, the wave that broke their way wasn’t enough to prevent close races. The good news is, it was enough to keep them in a lot of races; we may be in for a late night.
Some good signs in Florida - Foley’s seat looks good to stay GOP; they may keep Katherine Harris’ seat, which looked like it might be in trouble earlier.
CNN calls Connecticut for Lieberman - his lead has been 7 to 9 points with very few precincts in. Simmons up 10 percent but very early, 3 percent of precincts; Shays up 11 again, 3 percent precincts; Democrat Murphy beating GOP Nancy Johnson, 14 points, three percent reporting. GOP governor Rell rolling to victory about 2 to 1; CNN’s already called it.
