Unless I am mistaken about my friends’ ages, the Oakland Raiders have hired a new head coach younger than any of us, Lane Kiffin.
Okay, just checked; he’s older than me, but not by much.

Sigh. Maybe moving to DC was a mistake. It’s very weird to be the oldest person in my small but steadily growing group of friends and acquaintances. It’s like I skipped adulthood entirely and went straight from childhood to past-my-prime.
Or maybe this is what adulthood feels like: Looking around me and realizing that the momentum has passed on to a new crop of enthusiastic youngsters, and it’s going to be an uphill slog from here on out.
