Today, I played golf at the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland. The sun was out and the wind was down. Truly a blessing. After golf, a family friend who is an R&A member, treated us to drinks and an extraordinary lunch in the R&A clubhouse, which overlooks the first tee and eighteenth green at the Old Course. After lunch, we adjourned downstairs to The Big Room for a spot of a wonderful liqueur called Kimmel — a drink the Scots call a “wie sticky.” Words can’t do justice to the experience.
