Barack Obama Wants To Take Your Guns Away

And this time, it’s straight from the candidate’s mouth.

“If you’ve got a gun in your house, I’m not taking it,’’ Obama said. But the Illinois senator could still see skeptics in the crowd, particularly on the faces of several men at the back of the room.

So he tried again. “Even if I want to take them away, I don’t have the votes in Congress,’’ he said. “This can’t be the reason not to vote for me. Can everyone hear me in the back? I see a couple of sportsmen back there. I’m not going to take away your guns.’’

Even if I want to take them away? Gee, Senator, I think you just gave some red meat to the lipstick-wearing pit bull.

Sorry, but how does “I’m not going to take away your guns” (direct quote) translate to “[I] Want To Take Your Guns Away” (made up post title)? Seriously, help me understand this. “The sky is blue. Even if I wanted the sky to be green, the sky is still blue.” “OMG, he will color the sky green!” This is why I have a very hard time taking conservatives seriously, so please, help me understand the thought process here. Is there some kind of masterful rational logic I’m missing?

The part where he says “I don’t have the votes in Congress”, implying that if he did have the votes in Congress, he’d be all about taking them away.

    His record:
Voting against a bill protecting from prosecution someone who uses a gun to protect themselves in a jurisdiction where the gun is outlawed.
If he is elected and gets a large enough majority in the legislative branch, just what do you think he would do?
Notice the only reason he mentions supporting gun ownership is for sport. The 2nd amendment says NOTHING about sports.

I live in Illinois and I can tell you that even though Barack Obama wasted a lot of taxpayer money voting “present” on bills before him, he never saw anti-2nd Amendment legislation that he wasn’t in favor of. Forget his words; look at his record.

What’s even better is that he said it to us bitter, clingy, gun-toting Pennsylvanians.

    What a douche.

Kind of depends how you define “guns”. His definition seems to be sporting single shot bolt action or break action rifles. His definition doesn’t include Colt AR type rifles, as he’s already said he wants to reinstitute bans. If he said “I will not ban any firearms, nor institute any further regulation of firearms of any type” I’d feel better. Absent that, his record stands as a threat.

He is a LIAR. Look on his own campaign website and see for yourself his plan to indefinitely BAN all semi-automatic firearms and reinstate the Joe Biden bill which was the assault weapons ban.

He was a constitutional lawer, and he still does not get it right. The Supreme Court ruled that we as Americans have the right to bear arms. Reasonable restrictions should be allowed, like you can not be a felon, rapist, drug addict, mental case. There should not be any other restrictions, like the Liberal State of New Jersey where you must prove to the courts why you need a gun to carry.
